Clearing The Decks

DID YOU KNOW…? A Note from the Author

“There’s always something you should do before beginning your spiritual development?

I call it, ‘clearing the decks’ and it’s something I always recommend to those who are serious about moving forward in life and also developing spiritually.

Spirit always have an order and this is one of them.

It’s not dissimilar to preparing for going out somewhere where you have a bath or shower before putting on your nice clothes or clearing your desk or table before starting a new project.

‘Clearing the decks’ – or preparing for development – involves identifying and addressing any unfinished business and tying up loose ends, leaving you free and healthy to venture on a new path which will ultimately involve meeting new people and learning new things – especially about yourself.

Most people visit me for this very reason, wanting to have the best start before they commence their new spiritual journey and reading, ‘So… You Want To Develop Spiritually?’ which, I feel, is a really wise, sound and sensible decision.

I know, from my long experience as a medium and teacher, that this one visit, will prove an extremely useful and liberating experience for them. Something which will set the tone for their development as well as their future.

So, please, think about this first before you dive into your new spiritual manual?”

Spiritual Truth

All spiritual truths are simple, so simple a child could understand, and it’s for that reason that it is simple, so that children, who are so spiritual, can grasp its meaning. Consciousness, the conscious mind, the spirit, the life force; what is it? To me, it’s that which makes us live, it’s what animates all things. There are different levels of consciousness for humans, for animals, for plants, for the planets but “All life is one life.” There is no new truth, “Truth has always been and always will be.”

One of the first ‘spiritual truths’ I was given was, “Love, give and give again and all will be added onto you.” This truth is all about what I call the boomerang effect. The more you love, the more you will be loved. The more you give, the more will be given unto you, back to you. You get back what you put in, so to speak.

The second spiritual truth I was given was, “The first shall be the last and the last shall be the first.” The rule here is:- In your desire to give and by putting others first, it is you who will end up receiving. It is the law; an ancient version of ‘what goes round comes round.’ In every single thing that lives there is perfect balance. If you harm, you will be harmed. If you give, you will be given unto. It is the Law, and there are laws within laws within laws. Balance reigns supreme in spirit, there is no doubt about that, it’s part of life’s experiences as you go through your life.

We’re being taught all the time. Every single day there are things for you, there are opportunities for you, be open to opportunities, they come for you. So never be afraid of putting someone first or giving to others; you won’t be forgotten. We are told, “No-one is ever forgotten, mistaken or left out.” All things are included, everything is necessary. One thing is just part of the whole.

The one thing that changed me years ago was when I realised that we were all related, that we were all brothers and sisters, that we were all part of one enormous family and that God was our Father.

‘Who are we, why are we here, what happens when we die?’ To me, we all come back to earth to learn as the earth is a training ground. When we live in spirit, we reside within a soul group and that soul group is like our spiritual family. In choosing to come back here to earth, we actually agreed in spirit beforehand, why we needed to return. We have to do this ‘course’ on earth because we learn the theory in spirit but then we have to put that theory into practice to really understand it. Here on earth…

I want to explain that when someone has finished their life and it comes to their time, it’s their chosen time and it’s time to go home; it’s not time to die. People weep at funerals and spirit say, “You may weep but we rejoice, a friend is coming Home.” Once you learn that life is infinite, that your life here is just a stage, a part of infinity, you will have a completely different outlook on life and the lives of others.

The third truth which I thought was so profound… read more about Spiritual Truth in my Development Manual.

“The psychic is the tool for the spiritual.” We all have senses. We were given them so that we could use them as much as we can to the best of our ability and for our higher good whether we want to pursue this area for ourselves or for our fellow man.

Our mind, our consciousness, can also be used with other senses which are labelled psychic ‘gifts’ for use with clairvoyance, clairaudience, clairsentience, healing, psychometry, flower sentience, psychic art, etc. These are forms of expression fuelled from the spirit realms and fed through your mind to produce a communication dependent on your ability and understanding of what is around you. Many people use tarot, playing cards, rune stones, crystals, etc. which are tools they believe they need in order to communicate with the spirit world. But if they wanted to, they could abandon these material possessions and just communicate direct with spirit; have a direct line to God.

The conscious mind is the divine monitor, the channel for thought, the channel for communication – everyone has the ability to communicate. We all have minds, we all have senses and chakra points, we are all spirit inside our ‘bodies’ and we all have guides and helpers who are waiting to communicate with us and hoping that one day we will acknowledge their communication with us.

The Reason for Attunement

The reason for attunement is to facilitate the accession of your spirituality, your soul being, to a more highly evolved spirit, or, to simplify that; attunement allows higher evolved spirit to communicate with you. Man was not meant to be cut off from the world of spirit. Notice I say ‘attunement’ and not ‘meditation’.

With meditation – you look within, you go within, you learn to control your mental ability, you learn to control the flightiness of the mind, you come face to face with yourself. But with attunement – you lift yourself out of yourself, you open your chakras, you allow the Light within to reach out to the Light of Spirit. Attunement means At-one-ment – at one with spirit.

Why attunement …

… why not development? With development you do not attune but with attunement, your own development takes place automatically; it automatically grows when you attune. Through attunement you gain a greater understanding of your own spirituality.

This spiritual development course and method of teaching was relayed to me by my spiritual guides over 20 years ago and is a method I have used ever since. How could I not share all that spirit had taught me; I therefore realised that the best way was to write a book on spiritual development.

Healing is one of the highest forms of mediumship. The healer thinks not of himself but only of the receiver of his healing.

Those of you who are healers chose to be so before you were born. Like all forms of mediumship, the choice was made in spirit between you and your spirit guides. You cannot learn to heal. You can be taught the necessary requirements within your material world. You can be taught the ethics of healing but you cannot learn how to heal. You are either a healer or you are not or to re-phrase this better, you are either a healing channel or you are not.

All mediumship works on the vibration of spirit and healing is no different. It is the vibration of energy that comes through to the recipient. The body, the psychic instrument, is formed and fashioned in such a manner that those healing energies may flow freely, unobstructed through to the recipient. Healers are born they are not made.

“If I cannot learn to be a healer what do I do?” Nothing! You attune. You sit in attunement. You lift your vibration, you blend with the spiritual guides and helpers that surround you. The more you attune, the more that vibration is blended, the more it becomes as one. You do nothing. It is spirit who works through you. It is spirit who channels that healing energy through you who really does the work. The greatest healers are the ones who do nothing. The greatest healers are the ones who say, “Here I am, use me.”

Healing is massive. There is much more about healing and healing power included as a development chapter in my book ‘So… You Want to Develop Spiritually?’ or you can contact me directly.

Excerpt from ‘A Medium’s Tale’ by Jenny Martin – Autobiography

“Now I had become friends with two lovely people since John Alexander’s Workshop in Eastbourne the previous year. One was Stacey, the person to whom I gave the clairvoyance when John saw Rosa, the gypsy guide with me and the other was Michael and they both knew Potters Bar Church. At the beginning of March, Michael came to stay for a couple of days and before he went home I gave him healing. The reason I am relating this is to explain that, much to my surprise, he was given both types of healing (Shamanic trance and ‘quiet’ healing) and when it was all over he confirmed that during one part of the session he had felt two lots of hands on his left arm! This was brilliant as it confirmed what Melanie had said about me having two sets of healing guides working with me. Great stuff!”

Why Jenny’s counselling is often ‘Clearing the Decks’, healing and even private tuition?   (A 3 in 1 service).

Astral Travel

After recalling a particularly vivid, unusual or disturbing dream you will hear me saying that ‘it sounds as though you are working in your sleep’. Firstly, you need to understand that you are never alone when this work takes place. Secondly, our spirit leaves our body when sleeping as it is only our physical body that needs to rest. Our spirit is infinite – like an eternal flame – it never goes out or needs to rest.

However, when your spirit leaves your body during sleep and comes into the realm of spirit, you are always escorted by the guides who walk with you and work with you. It is important that you understand that because no-one should ever travel through the astrals alone. You have to travel through the astrals to get to the higher realms of spirit so no-one ever travels through the astrals without the aid of their spiritual guides and helpers.

You may hear some people say, ‘Oh, I astral travel.’ In fact, it is very dangerous to do so unless you are with your guides. They should always be with you and it should always be a controlled situation. When you travel in your sleep, you are always protected by your spirit guides as the astral plane can be a dangerous place due to the lower vibrations of spirit which often dwell there in darkness.

Types of Work

There are different types of work which you can do in your sleep state. Those who are healers will be taken to give healing. Those who are ‘teachers’ go back to spirit to teach. Then there are those of us who undertake what we call rescue work. For those living in spirit, they consider this a teaching process – an enlightening process. Higher evolved spirit do not go down to the lower regions of the astrals as their very bright ‘light’ – their highly evolved energy – will harm an ignorant soul so they are not allowed to go.

But mediums have given spirit permission to be used in your sleep state…

To learn how to do this safely, there are sections on Astral Travel & Working in Your Sleep in my book with examples of this and physical phenomena. You can also gain spiritual training with my private tuitions.

Excerpt from ‘A Medium’s Tale’ by Jenny Martin – Autobiography

“That night I would once again have the most amazing experience, The fuzzy numb feeling like an anaesthetic awoke me from sleep and I knew something was going to happen. I was going to astral travel again. I felt the energy rush and the ‘splitting’ in two and the first thing I saw was a Greek temple like the Parthenon straight ahead of me in the distance… The first thing I saw were two nuns, one in the foreground and the other in the background. They were dressed in grey habits with white bands inside their wimples but I couldn’t see their faces. Next, I noticed two small fires in the ground, again, one in the foreground with the other further back and realized that it was the fire that was lighting up the room. I looked down again and saw that the floor was sand… Finally, I saw two round pools of water in the sandy ground, one near me and another further away. I really couldn’t believe what I was seeing as it all seemed so surreal but then I heard a voice say, “Yes, this is Spirit Hospital.” and I suddenly remembered the funeral that afternoon and what I had thought as Alex’s coffin was brought down the aisle. I had been given proof of what I had thought and it had been immediate. This was just too incredible for words. I felt the luckiest girl alive to be shown all this and once again, so privileged.”

Trance & Rescue

To me, if you are going to do rescue, you will also do trance. This is because in both cases, spirit are taking over your senses, taking over your vocal cords, taking over your ‘body’.

I started doing rescue before I was doing trance. The first time I heard about rescue mediumship, I thought it was the most amazing thing I had ever heard of. I also saw the beauty and genius of being able to help two people by doing one thing; two for the price of one, I used to say. That is, helping both incarnate and discarnate spirit at the same time. I was therefore smitten and I knew, if I ever could, I wanted to do it! Why, because I’ve always wanted to help people and this was a unique type of ‘work’. You can also see the results of your labours and because you can make everyone’s lives better.

You see, when you help with rescue, you are allowing a lost soul to go home plus restoring the person’s life here on the earth plane back to normality. When I first got involved with rescue work, there was only one way to do it – one procedure – I now know different. We are learning all the time.

Rescue Mediumship

When I began my rescue mediumship, it was something done by two people. A medium who would manifest the spirit in question and a corresponding medium whose job it was to coax this spirit entity over to the ‘other side’. Rescue work was either done in a spiritual circle or at the place where the rescue or ‘exorcizing’ needed doing.

Since then, I have learnt that a rescue can be done by a medium on their own, with two or more mediums linking up and working together even though they all live in different areas and that a medium’s participation in a rescue can vary too.

To hear about my experiences doing rescue you can read my books. I also detail why we need a medium if spirit’s power is phenomenal and show how this is done using step by step taped tutorials. You can buy my Development Book by clicking here now.

Excerpt from ‘A Medium’s Tale’ by Jenny Martin – Autobiography

One evening I arrived and Vicky told me that it was just the two of us and we would be sitting in her front room instead of the back. By now I had done many rescues and was getting used to them coming through although I still lacked confidence as each one would be totally different. This would be the evening that we helped a lieutenant colonel. His voice was very posh and as usual, Vicky was handling him very well and found out that he hadn’t passed over due to concern about his men. But what was so surprising was that when his wife came to collect him, I saw a row of wives all turned out in their best ‘forties’ clothes and it was then I knew, that not only was the lieutenant colonel going home but he was taking his regiment with him! (I had learnt how sometimes Spirit would remove several people at the same time but never imagined it being part of an army!) Vicky and I have never forgotten that rescue.”

There are different kinds of circles:-

  • An open circle where anyone can attend.
  • A closed circle for chosen members only.
  • A healing circle dedicated to healing.
  • A teaching circle done via trance or by direct teaching, this can be open or closed.
  • A working circle used by spirit to work for spirit, hopefully always closed!

Often the minute someone realises that they are psychic or mediumistic they think they must join a circle. They think this is the glamour or social status of a psychic or medium. They think this is how they can develop the quickest – wrong!

Circles aren’t glamorous

Circles aren’t glamorous and circles aren’t the exclusive way to develop either. To me, your attunements are your greatest opportunity to blend with spirit for your higher good.

A closed circle is always better for obvious reasons but the disciplines still apply. Asking for protection and closing down are the tools you must always apply and never forget. They are vital for your health and safety like wearing a hard hat when you ride a bike or visit a demolition site. You can learn how to do this by following the tutorial in my Development Book.

Spiritual Circles

Spiritual circles are brought together with a great deal of care by spirit which is the difference between a psychic circle and a spiritual one. It is brought into being by teamwork with spirit never by the will of the sitters. A circle’s harmony is built gradually, slowly, as each sitter is brought into the circle. When a circle is convened by spirit, the sitters are of like mind and their level of understanding is similar.

When you sit within a spiritual circle you do not sit for personal achievement. You are not brought into a spiritual circle for your own personal development, you are brought into a spiritual circle and asked to serve. The whole ethos of a spiritual circle is not demand, is not development, it is service. You do not choose what you are going to do either. You ask, ‘How may I serve? How may I best serve spirit and best enhance the work of this circle?’

If anyone ever asks you, ‘Want to join a circle?’ or words to that effect, be wary. If you are meant to be in a circle you will be asked or led in such a way that you know is right, not a casual, ‘Why don’t you join ours?’

More information about circles can be found in my book ‘So… You Want to Develop Spiritually?’ or you can contact me directly.

Some people mistakenly believe that love is only an emotion which you experience sometimes. No, love is the first cause of all life. Love is light and heat and life itself. Love operates and is active on every plane of our being; from the lowest on earth to the highest in heaven. On the lowest of them, we only know it as a passion that sears, burns and consumes but on the highest plane, it creates and gives life.

There is emotional love and then, there is SPIRITUAL LOVE. This is an even greater, denser and more profound and acute type of love. We hear about the ‘touching of souls’. To me, this is when we experience Divine Love and now realise the difference and the contrast to even the highest form of emotional love.

Spiritual Love

Spiritual love can present itself in different forms and in different ways as each individual, being on their own path, could link to the experience of Divine Love at any time on their life’s journey. In due time, this experience will come to each and every one of us. The light will flood our being and all our gifts will be enhanced by the incoming of this divine fire, this magic, this creative Power which is Love.

“Love is the hallmark of God and is the trademark of all those who serve Him.”

One thing’s for sure, once you know and experience spiritual love, perspectives change and what you once thought was love changes too as a new and unbelievably deeper form of ‘spiritual’ love is exposed. It wraps itself around you and now the parallels and comparisons to emotional love become obvious. Love illuminates your heart and life as well as your countenance so that light goes forth to others through your mind, through your emotions, through your speech and every action.

Because of the Law of Cause and Effect, “What you sow, so you will reap” – what you do, what you say, how you conduct yourself throughout your life, has an effect, not only on the here and now but in the spirit realm and the lives thereafter that you will lead. So, you have a choice? If your life here is built on negativity then it will be in the darkness of negativity that you will dwell in spirit. But, if your life here is built on positive things, on love, on giving, on service – it doesn’t matter whether you believe in God or go to church – you walk a spiritual road and you build in the realms of Light.

To learn how to include Spiritual Love in your life, you can follow my development guide in my book ‘So… You Want to Develop Spiritually?’ or you can contact me directly.
